👋

We’re inviting the design community to submit talks for Nordic.design 2022 that will take place 5th of October in Stockholm. There is no deadline to submit a proposal as we add speakers continuously throughout the year, but the sooner you submit the better.

The general theme of Nordic.design is digital design and we aim to select topics that are interesting to as many designers as possible from different point of views. We would love to have talks about visual design, UX, AR, VR, bots, creative work, and more.

Maybe you're not interested in standing on stage but you know the perfect person that would give an interesting talk? Please suggest a speaker

What we're looking for

Keynotes are 50 min while regular presentations are 15 or 30 min and all talks should be in English.

People come to Nordic.design to get inspired. We love talks that have a unique point of view and can support in pushing the community as a whole forward. If you’ve already given your proposed talk somewhere else, we’d appreciate if you sprinkle it with some fresh examples and/or new information.

The proposal should be short and sweet. Get to the point and mention what value it could bring the design community.

To have a complete proposal you need to have a video of yourself. If you don’t have something recorded already, we encourage you to create a short video (2-3 minutes) of yourself presenting your session. What we’re looking at is your passion, knowledge, and personality as a speaker. If you have any questions, please let us know!

Keep proposals free of marketing and sales. Product pitches are automatic rejects. Lessons learned from building or running your product, however, can be invaluable.

Your audience

We have a diverse audience with people flying in from all over the world and ranging from juniors and curious souls to thought leaders and industry experts, reflecting the international design community.

Every year we do a feedback survey to hear what attendees love and what they'd like to see more of. Here are some key phrases that could be of use when writing your proposal.

  • Challenge existing viewpoints
  • Share your process and learnings
  • Be relevant and current
  • Provoke thoughts and create aha-moments
  • Engage the audience

Diversity

We take an active part in promoting inclusivity and openness, not only at our conference but in the design and tech scene overall. We’re therefore very proud over having had a gender equal speaker lineup at Nordic.design 2017, 2018 and 2019. For 2022, we’re working towards having an even more diverse lineup of speakers.

Code of conduct

We are dedicated in providing a harassment-free conference experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion.

We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any conference venue, including talks and by submitting your proposal you agree to follow our Code of Conduct.

Conference participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference at the discretion of the conference organizers.

Few conferences can boast both a cotton candy machine and rockband closing keynote. Nordic.design had all this and more. Was truly a delight to be a part of it all.
